Employee Spotlight: Shannon Harrison, Controller, Finance Dept

What do you do at Kidoz?
I work closely with our CFO (Henry Bromley) and am responsible for the invoicing of campaigns and general bookkeeping.
What is the most interesting thing about your work?
How it has evolved. There have always been new things to learn and different responsibilities and projects to take on. I started out working in administration. After maternity leave, I took further courses and filled a need in HR. I later filled the role of bookkeeper and have been working closely with the CFO ever since.
Where were you before working at Kidoz? Any interesting jobs that led you to where you are today?
Once I completed my post secondary education I immediately got a position working for a Vancouver tech company that created and maintained interfaces for broadcasting and media. This is where I initially met and worked with some of the team that I am still working with today.
What do you like most about the culture at Kidoz?
I love how supportive and appreciative management is of our individual contributions to the company’s success. I appreciate the mutual trust we have to accomplish our responsibilities and the flexibility of working remotely. The team is knowledgeable, and always ready to help one another. I love the diversity and the shared love of culture and food.
Can you share a few fun facts about yourself?
I have worked with the management team in various roles for 23 years. Personally, I love my morning workouts, being outdoors, food, traveling, cooking, and my job!
