Google Play released the new Data safety section in May 2021 which is a developer-provided notice for an app's data gathering, sharing, and security procedures.

The information provided on this page can assist you in completing the data disclosure obligations for your use of the Kidoz Mobile Ads SDK. This page contains information on whether and how our SDK manages end-user data.

We strive to be as helpful as possible, however as the app publisher, you are responsible for determining how to reply to Google Play's Data safety section form on your app's end-user data gathering, sharing, and security procedures.

How to utilize the information provided

The information provided here lists only the end-user data collected by the most recent version (version 8.9.7) of the Kidoz Mobile Ads SDK.

If you are using a prior version of the Kidoz Mobile Ads SDK, we recommend updating to the latest version to ensure your app's disclosures are accurate. The Kidoz Mobile Ads SDK will continue to be updated over time. This article will reflect these changes, so make sure to check back and update your disclosures as necessary.

To complete your data disclosure, refer to Google’s Data Safety section. In your data disclosure, make sure to also account for how your specific app shares and uses the collected data.

Data collected and shared

The Kidoz Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares the following data types automatically for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention purposes.

Truncated IP address
As per Coppa guidelines, we collect truncated IP address which may be used to estimate only the city level location of a device, so that precise location cannot be collected or used.
App interactions
Collects user ad views and clicks, video playback information and ad viewability information.
Diagnostic information
Collects information related to the performance of the ads, loading and playback errors.

All of the user data collected by Kidoz Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol.

How to Fill the Google Data Privacy section specifically for the Kidoz SDK

Note: The below information refers only to how the Kidoz SDK pertains to Data Privacy. If your app uses other SDKs or you manage Privacy Data in any way in your app, you will need to answer appropriately for the way they handle Privacy Data

On the Google Play Console, scroll down to the “Policy Section” and click on “App Content”. On the App Content page, scroll down to “Data Safety” and click “start”.

Purpose of Data Collection

The purpose of the Kidoz Mobile Ads SDK is to enable Publishers monetize ad inventories utilizing Kidoz child safe Coppa & GDPR compliant ads.

The data collected; app interactions, is collected and shared in order to provide the minimum amount of data required for Kidoz to serve the ads in a compliant way.
