Great products aren't just about code and algorithms: they’re about the people who actually build and manage them. For this spotlight, we sat down with Kajsa Kraus to talk about her path into adtech, what her day-to-day looks like at Kidoz, and why she genuinely enjoys showing up for this team.
What do you do at Kidoz?
I’m a software programmer responsible for the Ad Dashboard, the platform that helps manage and monitor campaigns. My work focuses on building and maintaining the tools that make it easier to understand performance and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
What is the most interesting part of your work?
What’s been most interesting to me is how different this role has been from my previous experience. Both the industry and the development environment were new to me, so there has been a lot to learn. I’ve really enjoyed that learning process and getting to expand my skills in a completely new space.
Where were you before joining Kidoz?
Before joining Kidoz, I worked at Vorum Research Corp, where I developed CAD/CAM software for the prosthetics and orthotics industry. It was a fascinating field that focused on creating tools to support medical device design and manufacturing.
Before that, while I was still in university, I spent a couple of summers working at Merrill Lynch in New York City, which was a very different environment and an interesting early experience in the professional world.
What do you like most about the culture at Kidoz?
The culture at Kidoz is very team-oriented. Everyone I’ve worked with has been supportive and willing to help whenever needed. Even though we work remotely, collaboration is strong and teamwork plays a big role in how we get things done.
What are some fun facts about you?
My husband and I really enjoy live music, and we try to support local musicians whenever we can. One of the things we love doing is hosting a monthly jam session in our basement, which is always a lot of fun.
Since joining Kidoz, Kajsa has jumped headfirst into a new industry, using the role as a chance to keep learning and evolving alongside a tight-knit team. By supporting the Ad Dashboard, she handles the essential "under-the-hood" work that keeps the platform running smoothly and remains a key player in everything the team builds.
