At Kidoz, strong collaboration sits at the center of everything we build. Meet Joachim Bulemela who shares a bit about his role, his journey into adtech, and what keeps the work interesting for him every day.
What do you do at Kidoz?
I’m an Ad Operations Technology Producer, acting as a link between the Ad Operations team and the Technology team. My role focuses on bridging those two worlds to ensure campaigns, tools, and processes work seamlessly together.
What is the most interesting part of your work?
My role allows me to learn new things constantly and interact with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, almost every day. That variety fits my personality well and keeps the work engaging. It also helps me continuously expand my knowledge across different areas of the adtech space.
Where were you before joining Kidoz?
Before joining Kidoz, I was self-employed for 11 years, running my own media consulting company, Yourbackupemployee, Inc.
My path here is shaped by the many roles I’ve held across the online advertising industry, including Ad Operations, Technical Analyst, Manager, and Director at several leading media companies in Canada, as well as consulting through my own agency. This mix of experiences has given me a broad understanding of the entire adtech ecosystem, which I’m able to apply in my work today.
What do you like most about the culture at Kidoz?
Kidoz is the first company I’ve worked for that operates 100% remotely while still succeeding and aligning its workforce around shared goals and objectives. That level of coordination and trust is something I truly value.
What are some fun facts about you?
- I’m left-handed, and I like to joke about it. People often assume left-handed people are smarter (I don’t think that’s true), but maybe a bit more creative.
- I nearly became a professional soccer (real football) player in Canada between 2010 and 2013, playing as a goalkeeper for one of Toronto’s first-division teams.
- I’m a painter, with a focus on realism.
- I consider myself a student of the world. With the right mentors, I can learn almost anything, and over the years, that’s included building websites, databases, coding, playing soccer professionally, managing departments, and launching businesses.
